fabric 27th Birthday: Craig Richards, Ricardo Villalobos

11pm to 5am. Craig Richards and Ricardo Villalobos top the birthday bill, with Ivan Smagghe, Jane Fitz, Sama' Abdulhadi and Vlada among the rest. Richards has been part of fabric since the start, so this is his room's birthday too.

Bicep & Clark, "Viper" (feat. Saskia)
(Ninja Tune, out 25 September)
Bicep call this three-track release the start of a new chapter, and "Viper" is the one that brings in Clark and vocalist Saskia. The video follows a young free party collective and the police pressure on the scene. Warm, dreamy and best played once the room has settled.

Nightclubs still down 36% since 2020
The NTIA counts 28.7% of UK late-night venues gone since 2020, with nightclubs down 36.1% and London down 15.5%. Numbers ticked up 0.4% between March and June, and the NTIA wants the October Budget to protect that. Book the small rooms you rate while they are here.

Smart glasses are now a dancefloor issue
A free app called ZuckOff uses Bluetooth to flag nearby Ray-Ban Meta and Snap Spectacles wearers, and has passed 6,000 downloads. New York's BASEMENT has banned the glasses, and London's Body Movements festival added them to its banned list. fabric and Phonox already run strict no photo policies.
