Welcome to No Skips. Summer gets its proper send off this weekend. ESG play their final ever London show at The Cause on Saturday, Roll Deep and Swindle head up LDN History at Phonox on Friday, and Deborah De Luca takes over fabric the same night. Here's a glimpse of what's on this week and what's ahead.
THIS WEEK
The Cause: Summer Festival
π SATURDAY | π The Cause
π Tickets
The last full venue party of the season, running 2pm to 4am. ESG, the Bronx sisters whose records half of hip hop and dance music has sampled, play their final ever London show. Gilles Peterson, Joe Claussell, Rhythm Connection and a five hour Horse Meat Disco set fill out the rest. This is the one to book.
fabric: Deborah De Luca, Bae Blade, Cera Khin, Noise Mafia, MarcelDune
π FRIDAY | π fabric
π Tickets
Doors 11pm through to 6am. Deborah De Luca brings her Naples bred, hard edged techno to Farringdon, with Cera Khin and Noise Mafia in support. Fast and loud from the off.
LDN History Part 3: Roll Deep, Swindle, Grandmixxer, Just Jane
π FRIDAY | π Phonox
π Tickets
Grime history in a Brixton basement. Roll Deep carry the catalogue, Swindle brings the musicianship, and Grandmixxer knows these records better than anyone behind the decks. Advance tickets start at a fiver.
Len Faki and Alba Heidari
π SATURDAY | π Phonox
π Tickets
Berghain resident Len Faki in a 550 capacity room, 11pm to 5am. Alba Heidari warms up. The heavier option if The Cause is too much disco for you.
WHAT'S ON: PAUL KALKBRENNER
Resistance London: Paul Kalkbrenner (Live), Sven VΓ€th
π Sat, 5 Dec | π Drumsheds
π Tickets
Ultra's techno brand takes over Drumsheds with Paul Kalkbrenner playing live and Sven VΓ€th on for three hours. A live Kalkbrenner show is a different thing to a DJ set, built entirely from his own records. Book now, not the week before.
Bugged Out: 2001 & On
π Sat, 10 Oct | π Drumsheds
π Tickets
Bugged Out goes back to its early 2000s peak. Erol Alkan, 2manydjs, The Avalanches (DJ set) and Dave Clarke lead a bill that also has Friendly Fires and Simian Mobile Disco on it. Electroclash and indie dance at warehouse scale.
THE BOOTH
Chase & Status and Skrillex, "Essa Ta Quente"
(out 9 September, from the forthcoming album Generic Everything)
Chase & Status first dropped this at Boomtown in August, with Skrillex on stage beside them and Flowdan along for the ride. It comes out of their love of Brazilian rap and baile funk, and it lands a month ahead of the album on 9 October. Expect to hear it in every bass set this autumn.

The Night Tube turns ten
More than 67 million overnight journeys since August 2016, and around 81,000 a night now. It still only runs Fridays and Saturdays on the Central, Jubilee, Northern, Piccadilly and Victoria lines, with no word yet on extending it. The Jubilee is one of the five, which is good news for anyone leaving The Cause on Saturday.
